yes it is supported and will work , for a cheaper board , even a H81 will do you just fine since it wont overclock 

that will come alot cheaper and support the hardware that you want to put in it (8gb ram and an RX480)

its about 35~50% faster , so yea its worth it ,

and that H81 board or whatever you choose allows you to upgrade to a i7 4790 later if you ever need more performance
