Hi guys! I am planning to buy an 'entry' level drone under or close to 100$. I have flown a drone before, but it was real shit, and it wasn't worth the money I paid. I paid 100$ for the drone but 50$ was probs the company name cost. I want a drone that can fly for a long time. I don't care about the camera or the speed (faster is prefered tho). I am planning to train myself with this drone before I buy a racing / photography drone. Please suggest me a drone that will fly for long that is under 100$ Thanks! (and long preferably means over 10 mins, with replacement batts if possible so I can hot swap the batteries)

P. S. Please don't say google it. I have tried and the results were pretty unsatisfactory. They were either too expensive or too shit.

Don't know about any good sub 150 drones, but maybe you should look into the used market? There's probably some old Phantom 1 / 2's floating around. You would have to check the battery wear though.

You're probably want something for aerial photography, but you're not going to get anything like what you want for less than $500. If you already know the controls of a mode 2 radio and the basics of controlling a multirotor in the air, then I'd save up for a phantom 3 standard (I think it's like $400 right now). You won't be able to get anything more than a toy for that budget.

  • 2 months later...

I have been in the RC hobby for over 5 years now and I currently work at a local hobby store in Denver. I also manage the Castle View multi-GP chapter(A chapter of a racing drone organization.) If you are looking for a good starter drone under 100$ I would recommend getting Horizon hobbies nano qx or their inductrix. Both of these drones are mostly intended for indoors and very little wind outside they are great for starting out because they offer

  • Swappable batteries
  • Small size(less likely to break drone or other items/people around it)
  • Hobby Grade(can replace any part of the drone)
  • Stability mode(good for learning
  • Acro Mode(good to transition over to racing drones)

If you become interested in getting into drone racing or just want to get something faster to fly around I would be happy to help you pick out parts from online distributors such as amazon or eBay and be able to tell you whether they are compatible or not. I am new to the LTT form so if you or anyone else is interested in getting into drone building please message me directly.
