That RX 480 is horrible. It might just be one of the worst 480s next to reference. Do you want to burn his/her pronoun's house down?

I understand that. But the problem is, I feel AMD can come up with something good now with free sync monitor maybe

And the next cheaper 8GB is at 60 AUD more. Else I have to switch to 1060 6GB (which are also Gigabyt cards)

Or an RX 480 4GB, which isn't a terrible card. In fact, at 1080p, there are very few instances where it's slower than the 8GB variant. The XFX RS is just 329 AUD, and the Sapphire Nitro + is 339. The coolers are about on par, so I'd pick the RS here.

@Rika Shiguma- So here's the best I can come up with for the money. Get a few drinks on New Year's with that extra $17.

However, what might change things is whether or not you have a monitor, mouse, keyboard, and windows key. You're going to need all of those to use a computer; let alone game on one.

Maybe. If she/he needs a monitor, then it's going to be a Core i3 6100 and an RX 470. A full setup means a Core i3 and probably a 1050.

I thought a monitor and peripherals would set you back further. I'm posting a full setup in a bit.

Nope, a full setup at this price is agonizing. @Rika Shiguma- if you need a monitor, peripherals, and a Windows key, push up your budget by another $100 or so. $200 if you want nicer stuff.

@Shiv78 thinks all G1 Gaming cards suck, but I think the NVidia ones are okay. However, I'd pick the 4GB RS or Nitro + any day. I wish the GTR cards were cheap.

Checks out fine, sucky cooler seems to be exclusive to the 480.
