After new GPU installation PC won't last 2 seconds

So after installing my windforce r9 280x into my PC. My PC turns on for a second or 2 and turns off. All fans are spinning.  So i know its gettinf power. I did how ever not uninstall my Nvidia drivers from my old card. PC won't boot at all now. Neither GPU or no GPU at all. Wont boot. Someone please help!

Did you clear cmos?

The drivers have nothing to do with it if it's not even POSTing.

As the above poster suggests, clear your CMOS. If that doesn't help, try a different power supply, you might've fried your current one.

And the wattage rating isn't all that matters...

what power supply is it?

what was the old card?

is the 280x a good card ( used )..... where did it come from"

did you try it in another machine?

What PSU do you have?

 

Less than reputable brands like to fudge their numbers by stating that as the peak wattage at ridiculous temps like 30C which causes a sharp drop in actual true peak wattage.

That's not even including everything else like rails, ripple, etc...

I have a EVGA supernova 750w PSU, card was used but was currently in a PC working and everything. I restarted the cmos. PC turns on. All fans spin. My keyboard and mouse don't turn on and there is no video output.  Anyone got ideas?

Ensure that there aren't any loose screws or similar shorting the system out.

with your reluctance to post the hardware requested i have to assume the motherboard is bricked. good luck.
