Hey guys, I currently have an fx 6300 and I want to switch over to intel. I have about a 450 dollar budget but, I can stretch it to 500. I do a lot of gaming and modeling. Any suggestions on what I should get, or should I wait for ryzen? Thanks so much.

Just wait a bit longer for Ryzen (:
Would you want to carry over your current RAM and CPU cooler? If so, what do you have in those departments?

Sig under construction.

Ah, that was the thing they said they couldn't talk about?

I am think that is what it was because they never brought anything up about it recently.

I was asking about it in the case of the OP moving to Intel, trying to determine whether they would want to stick with their current RAM and cooler should they think that either were particularly good, just wondering about whether the cooler would be compatible; and if they want to stick with the DDR3 they have, then obviously they'd need to go with Haswell/Refresh or ensure they're using DDR3L if they're going with Skylake, and a compatible board.

Sig under construction.

In that case, I think you'll need to go to Haswell or Haswell Refresh, or Skylake with a compatible board should you have DDR3L - Zen probably isn't an option if you want to keep your DDR3.

I mean I don't have a problem with upgrading to Zen. I was just wondering about time until release and if i should just go the intel route. I want the most for my money :)
