why do I get lower fps

Why do I get lower FPS than usual in the same game that I've been playing for the past 4 years back then it 112fps to 120 fps now its 40 to 60 and the game is DOTA 2

Gonna need more information bruh. What are your specs? Did you change anything in your system? Did you upgrade your monitor? What resolution do you play at?

try to clean your graphics card because it may slow your pc but not as that much.

Run antimalware software try enything.

well dota 2 switched its engine recently, so that's probably why your fps has dropped (Due to the fact that the game is now more demanding)
