Here is what I'm planning on purchasing for my first PC gaming rig (Leaving the console). It is around $800 (before OS). I don't want to go above $850. What are y'all's thoughts, concerns, tips, etc. Any advice greatly appreciated. All I want is 1080p 60fps at high settings. Overclocking not necessary.

MX300 is a better SSD than the BX200. AFAIK BX200 uses planar TLC vs the 3D V-NAND on the MX300. Planar is less durable and slower to respond than 3D NAND. Density is also lower.

I'd also change out the PSU. Get the EVGA 550 G2.

Can't squeeze any more cash out for the 6 GB version of the 1060?

Other than those three bits, your build looks good.

New Build (The Compromise): CPU - i7 9700K @ 5.1Ghz Mobo - ASRock Z390 Taichi | RAM - 16GB G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200CL14 @ 3466 14-14-14-30 1T | GPU - ASUS Strix GTX 1080 TI | Cooler - Corsair h100i Pro | SSDs - 500 GB 960 EVO + 500 GB 850 EVO + 1TB MX300 | Case - Coolermaster H500 | PSUEVGA 850 P2 | Monitor - LG 32GK850G-B 144hz 1440p | OSWindows 10 Pro.

So I did a couple of changes based on y'all's recommendations, and I'm sitting at $835 with amazonprime. Sadly I cannot justify for going for the GTX 1060 6gb, but I feel like the Rx480 4gb will give me what I need. Now PCPARTPICKER said this, should I be worried? I'm definitely a newbie, so just wanted to make sure.

  • The Corsair 100R ATX Mid Tower Case supports video cards up to 414mm long, but video cards over 275mm may block drive bays. Since the MSI Radeon RX 480 4GB GAMING X Video Card is 276mm long, some drive bays may not be usable.
