Host Online Movie

Go to solution Solved by Freezanator,

@Abdullatif I've never used Letsgaze so I can't give my two cents about it. I've used Skype, however, and it is mainly for video calls and chatting. You can share your screen on Skype too, though. Another application that I suggest is TeamViewer. The other person can view your screen and interact with your computer as if that person was with you. Really great for movies as TeamViewer becomes fullscreen unlike Skype and would come in handy if the other person has to adjust some settings during the movie. I'll give Letsgaze a try and see how it performs. :)

Just FYI you can make skype fullscreen. It notably has better performance than something like teamviewer for this kind of thing. Remote desktop tools in general aren't meant for, or well known for their video performance. Something like OBS may work for this too. I've never used letsgaze either but it sounds like something that was made specifically for something like this, which gives it an advantage over skype and definitely teamviewer.

Well, guess I never tried fullscreen in Skype. By the way, I just found out that Letsgaze only has 2 options: YouTube or local file (both parties must have the same file) which somewhat sucks. Skype seems like the best option here. :)

That's likely why it has better performance then. Remember, only having the video available on one machine means that the one who hasn't got the file is reliant on the upload speed of the one who does. If both people have (access to) the file, then the only data going between them is the track position and the state of the playback.
