sub keyboard I assume? Have you tried changing ports/ using USB 2.0 ? My 3.0 ports take a while to power up sometimes.

some keyboards may not play well with your bios.

Make sure to plug it into a usb 2.0 port on that board, and if it has a polling rate adjustment, flip it to bios or try a cheap simple keyboard if you have a nicer 'gaming' one

You're probably not doing it fast enough because for wahtever reasons the window for getting into the bios is tiny.  I had a Gigabyte A75 board and the window for ACTUALLY getting into the BIOS was painfully short and in fact shorter than the time it actually displayed 'Press F2/Del to enter the BIOS'.  I had to time it JUST RIGHT.  ...Super aggravating but I could get in there eventually.

in this case the trick is to unplug the hard drive and force it into the bios that way.
