Will it work?

Someone here on the forums has recently helped me find a PC that I have been looking for, and I want to upgrade it with a 1050 ti (or something that doesn't require an external power connector) and a powerful Core 2 Quad. The last thing I want to upgrade it the RAM, but I don't know what type it accepts, DDR3 or DDR2. Can someone help me figure out support for these upgrades? The PC is a Dell Optiplex 755, in the "desktop" form factor. Thanks, merry Christmas :)

all C2Qs use DDR2, the LGA 755 socket can only use DDR2 or DDR1 in some rare cases

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

iv looked around quite a bit on used motherboards and i have never seen a LGA 775 motherboard with DDR3, please show me some proof of this because iv never seen a C2Q using DDR3

cool thanks, anyway your compuer isnt using DDR3 from what i have found atleast but if you can, go into taskmanager and then under the preformace tab on the RAM menue it should say a speed, if thats 800MHz or lower its DDR2 and if its above 1000MHz it should be DDR3 assuming its running at stock speeds
