I was actually not aware that their speed could be changed. How do I do this?

What fans do you have and what headers are you powering them off of?

My vocabulary on computers is a little limited, so I don't quite understand your question. I'm actually on another computer so I can't check the fans right now. They are the the stock fans that come with the case. I believe they are Corsair. My motherboard only has one port for a fan. So I bought a 1-3 PMW fan splitter cable. The 3 fans are all plugged into the cable which is attached to the motherboard.

The case should only come with two stock fans. What's the third?

What motherboard do you have?

I like Noctua NF series fans. I've heard the be quiet SilentWings are pretty nice also but I haven't tried them personally.  I'm currently running Cooler Master Silencio FP 120 fans and wanted to upgrade to Noctuas however the CMs are running fine so I haven't bothered.  I do feel they could be quieter though.

There's 2 larger ones in the front and a smaller one in the back. The motherboard is the Gigabyte H110M-A.

Can you tell us the model name of the fans? There should be labels behind the frame. If you're not sure, post photos of them.

I can check, but I'd have to do that tomorrow unfortunately. Not by the computer tonight. Does the model of the fan affect if its speed can be controlled or not?

The preferred method for controlling fan speed depends on the fan in question.

Okay, I'll have to post the info tomorrow. Is this usually controlled via software on the computer?

The headers on your motherboard respond to the fan settings in the bios by default. Your board actually has two fan headers: cpu_fan and sys_fan.

Depending on the fans you want to control, you would want to plug into or split off of either header.

Gigabyte's iteration of fan control on their recent boards seems to be a downgrade to preset profiles as opposed to manual settings available in their older boards. Because of this, you'll probably lower your fan speeds by choosing a Quiet/Silent profile on the header in the motherboard settings.
