New memory 8+4 or save up and 8+8?

rip

Most of you would say 8+8

I need some new RAM. Been looking at some on Ebay as other stores would not fit in my budget at all

It claims for AMD only but would Intel i5 4460 work on a H81 motherboard?

https://www.asus.com/ca-en/Motherboards/H81ME/specifications/

I have 27 CAD to spend only. If you did find one then please note about shipping and tax. Basically I have less than 20 CAD. There is a 13% tax. (go calculate that)

Clearly budget can only do 4GB. Would it affect much if I went for 12 GB instead of 16. Would that be a regretful decision

Why more RAM? I do video editing. Usage can go up to 80-90%. Gaming as well would also sometime get high. I believe 12 is enough?

Having 8GB RAM now. Only have one more slot so it's either 1x8GB or 1x4GB. 2 or 1 is out of question obviously.

Also, I have PayPal. Local places like Kijiji or Craigslist most likely won't accept PayPal transfer, they want my cash

It might take quite some time to save up. I would want it now

I would get a single 8GB stick. There has to be somewhere that accepts your $27 for it

I managed to get 8 gb moar ram (DDR3) for just 15 euros, localy. (could jump on my bike, and get it used) Was 2 sticks of 4 gb each, my mobo has 4 memory slots. It took me about 3 weeks to find this ad, while I was checking for moar ram, 2 times a day.

If I were you, I would save up for an extra 8 gb stick, since you have no moar place for extra sticks.

But the question still remain. Would 12GB be a pain in the ass compared to 16?

I never used 12, only (in this computer) 8 and 16 gb. I really like my 16gb, and depending on the games I play, it really gets close to 90%. (Space Engineers, think of Minecraft on steroids, 2 gb going to my APU/GPU)

I'd go 8. Probably would be fine to get 4 but I just think it would be nicer and more noticable upgrade.
