hi, at christmas i did a budget build, here are my specs:

amd athlon x4 640

cooler master elite 430

oczz corexstream cxs500w-uk psu

1tb hdd

samsung dvd drive

corsair 1600mhz ram 4gb

asrock n68c-gs fx motherboard

nvidia 8800 320mb

the 8800 was given to me by a friend.

now for my birthday i was wanting to get a gtx 580, which i could get at a good price, but i wasnt sure if my psu would be enough. will it be enough? should i look at a 570 instead? any help is appreciated

ive seen some review websites who had a last gen i7 build with a 580 that only drew about 370w, what about a 570?

i dont have the money for a 680, and i will be changing the motherboard and cpu for an intel setup next christmas but not for a long time, im only considering the 570 or the 580

I would get a PSU that is 80+ once you earn some money in order to not stress out your psu that hard and wearing it alot. I would go for a Corsair or a Seasonic power supply.
