Is my build powerful enough to run 4K?

rhwerkman

Hello,

I have the following build and am thinking of moving to 4K for gaming.

Don't worry about not having a cooler on the list, it's a custom loop.

Is my Rig good enough?

Don't expect maxed out at 60FPS, but close.

Try Minesweeper, it's really intensive...

The screen I would buy will have Freesync, if that helps anything.

You should go pg348q way, and no, free-sync is not gonna get you more fps

So true it hurts

I just want to ask. If you are gaming in 4k why are you buying 1080p monitors. Are you going to do what linus did with the 8k build? Or you just want to know how your build would perform in 4k?

That is my current build. I'm just curious what my machine can do with the 4K especially when Mass Effect Andromeda comes out.

But I can't afford it. And wouldn't pay that much money for any monitor.

Dude you spent $600 on gaming speakers and $200 on overpriced memory. How can you not afford an expensive monitor now?

I may be looking too much into this but really? It looks like you splurged on your build without even asking for build advice.

I splurged on that speaker set when I still had a decent paying job. I don't have that nice job anymore so no, I'll not spend €1200 on a monitor.

Also, my rig was bought over time and not in one buy.

In titles that support crossfire, comfortably so. In titles that don't? Be prepared to drop to low settings.

Looks doable, 2 390Xs should be just above a GTX 1080.

First of all, ad hominem attacks are not helpful. And the price of that memory probably has changed between the time of purchase and now.
