720p is the most reasonable resolution, and you should be able to hit 720p60 streaming very consistently across games for the realistic lifetime of the laptop.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

1080p

just dont do any crazy bitrate or something

I default to 720p @ 30FPS not 1080p but whatever.

Also for bit-rate ... read this several times over a period as you learn more about bit-rate.   Its pretty good on the topic.

So I wouldn't stream at more than 720p @ 30fps not because your machine isn't capable based on those specs you should easily be able to stream in 1080p in 99% of scenarios, but because of lag on the client side (that is on the side of people watching your videos).

So if your using twitch unless your a twitch partner, access to the servers that adjust resolution and bitrate of a stream in real time is limited based on availability so if the client computer or internet connection (aka your viewers) can not play 1080p or is on a mobile connection and doesn't have a fast enough download speed. Their device will have to decode the video and this can result in a less than ideal viewing experience.

This is why even though most of the time my computer could easily handle 1440p streaming and my internet upload speed is between 75-90Mbps I still only stream at 720p @ 30fps. However I do record at 1440p for youtube, because it is not live and the same issues do not exist.

I hope this answer helps and I made my reasoning clear even though I could not remember the names of everything off the top of my head like what those darn servers are called.

My RIG:

I7 6700k - GTX 1080 -  32GB Ram - 256GB 950 Pro(boot) + 1TB 850 EVO(Programs) + 4TB 860 EVO(Games) + 1TB WD Black (Files)
