I like it, PSU is a good wattage. Water cooler may be overkill UNLESS your planning on overclocking.

I can explain why you gotta change PSU: Corsair's old CX line is all PSUs rated for just 25 degrees celsius ambient temperature, and on a hot day in summer it is likely to just shut itself down for no reason.

Which 650W EVGA? The NEX is very much not good and could cause instability with your components because of its bad voltage control.

Yes absolutely. You're getting the best power supply you can get for less than $150 if you snatch that RM750x.

It's a good wattage but a bad power supply.

30 degrees celsius at load, but that's hardly an improvement. @Zoooom- you need to change it. Refer to this- pick something out of the first three tiers.

Oh that's right the ones that were 25C only (but no OTP so lol) were the EVGA 400W.

Excellent. The RMx series is among the best in Corsair's lineup, and is probably the best value at the higher end of their power supplies. Needless to say, it's a huge improvement. Going by this community's ranking system (PSU tiers), it's a good four levels above the CX500, and $9 cheaper too (?!).

 

I also like how the sticker on the RMx series isn't as instrusive as the one on the AX series with the red letters. There's no way the RMx is going to clash with any colour scheme.

 

I'm surprised people aren't recommending the grey SeaSonic units as much. Sure, they're ugly, grey, have ugly yellow/red cables, and tiny fans, but electronically, they're all S12 units, and thus beat almost everything in and around their price range for value.
