Hi guys, just have a question regarding what liquid I should be using, I have bought a Raijintek Triton 240 AIO (I know about the bad rep these have, for the price I paid for both this and my system, imo its worth the risk)

I am looking at adding a tube res for aesthetic reasons, which of course means I will need to add more liquid.
On a couple of review sites they state that the radiator is Aluminium, and the CPU block is Nickel Plated Copper, so I'm just wondering what I need to do in regards to anti-corrosion in my loop. Do i just use distilled water + some sort of anti corrosion additive? I live in New Zealand and there isn't a whole heap of water cooling supplies here so if there is something that is not necessarily designed specifically for water cooling (say for an automotive application) that would work fine please let me know!

Thanks!

For mixed metal AIO's your best option would be to get a premixed fluid that is compatible to just ensure you don't have any issues. If you can get a reliable anticorrosive/biocide mix for straight distilled water that would also work.

Thanks for the fast reply. Regarding an anticorrosive/biocide mix where would I be able to find something like this? Is it something designed for computers or would I find it at a hardware store, etc.

Thanks

Your best option would be a premix like this or to get an fairly heavy ethylene gylcol solution mix.

DO NOT BUY EKWB! IT DOES NOT CONTAIN MIXED METAL PROTECTION INHIBITORS!

Thank you for contacting us.
I'm really sorry, but please note that you will have a lot of corrosion and your radiator will surely start leaking quite soon.
DO NOT use this mix of materials in the same mix, as you should never use this mix of materials in the same loop.

Best regards, Igor

Answer from EKWB when I double checked can you use their coolant in mixed metal loops.

I suggest to use this: http://www.coollaboratory.com/product/coollaboratory-liquid-coolant-pro-blue/

They state mixing metals is okay! Has very long loop life and doesn't cost too much either.

Just my 2 cents and do your own research, you get a lot false information on LTT forums.

Ok cool, it honestly looks like its going to be easier for me to buy something pre-mixed. Probably safer that way.
Just have to find a way to get it to New Zealand!

Website is for international buyers also? Doesn't seem to cost much to buy concentrate or ready 1 litre premix bottles.

They do quote it to have that capabiility, if not then another option would be mayhems X1 or pastel which I know is mixed metal compatible.

EK-Ekoolant EVO contains synergistic corrosion inhibitors to protect metals commonly found in computer liquid cooling systems. It has been tested in accordance with BS5117 and found to meet BS6580 corrosion standards for copper, brass, aluminium and stainless steel.

Oh wow just checked the site and shipping is incredibly fair. Most of the sites I have checked regarding coolants (EK and Mayhems) have had shipping set at double the price of the coolant

I am quite fond of the mayhems pastel range.

They do not state you can mix them! Mixing protection is whole different area than just using same materials in loop. Thats why I asked their support to clarify it.

Other option is to buy EKWB slim copper radiators and not caring about mixed metal protection.
