Yep. Head over to 'Students and Teachers'. You can only choose between the photography bundle and the complete collection, but the discount should make it easier to afford the full collection, which has Premiere Pro, which you need.

Hello there!

I am right about to purchase my $4,000 setup, which has everything that will suit my needs for the production of high quality content. But I just realised there is something HUGEEE I missed.

Something that is never accounted for coming from using a mac book air for 4 years which has generally provided these needs with iMovie (great program) and a few free thumbnail editing programs such as Screenflow. Quicktime player is also a low-end recording software which was very useful to avoid watermarking ect.

I need a couple editing/recording softwares.

One for thumbnails

One for editing

One for recording

I don't have money to throw around and the money going towards the setup comes from years of savings.

I wish to be creating videos as soon as the parts arrive.

I will be editing videos frame by frame to create well synced montages ect. Unless I'm simply streaming (also need a program for that), I will need something that can edit general videos too.

I will be recording gameplay at around 30-60fps depending on what is best for my needs. The PC will provide 400fps on most fps games with high settings, so consider fps loss not a problem. Unlike with the macbook air I'm using atm.

Any help is greatly appreciated and I've been pressured with time here so hit me up.

Thanks in advance

EDIT: forgot to add that I will not be able to afford something such as sony vegas pro... $800 is too much...

Adobe Premiere has become industry standard for video editing, and Photoshop has been the standard for all image-related work for years, and will likely retain that position for years to come. They're both included in the Adobe CC subscription, but I won't blame you for being opposed to a subscription-based payment method. If you're a student or a teacher, you get up to 60% off on your subscription, which makes it a good deal.

As for recording software- does NVidia Shadowplay extend to screen capture outside of games as well?

If you're just getting started and don't really have a handle on things, get either Hitfilm 4 Express (which is free) or Sony Movie Studio 13 Steam Edition (which is very cheap and usually on sale). There's nothing on Windows that's quite as simple as iMovie, but these programs come close and offer more functionality.

Thank you very much, as a student, what is the process of proving myself a student?

I believe I'd be happy to go with the subscription and will do a little research!

Thank you again for the help mate.

I think you have to sign up for an Adobe account with a .edu address. That's usually it, but there might be something else. Look it up.

Thank you mate, spoke to someone over there and we sorted something out! Perfect, at $20aud a month for all adobe programs is something I can afford.

Really appreciate your help, I took another look and will probably use OBS for recording/streaming.
