NZXT Hue+ Power Draw Problem??

Hey guys  ,

 

i bought the nzxt hue+ a while ago and encountered a few problems.

First of all my equipment:

 

GTX 970

fx 8350

6 fans [fan grid(4 x 120, 2 x 140 (mm))]

hue+ (4 led strips)

a 1tb toshiba hdd

sandisk 256 gb ssd

freezer 7 cpu cooler (sry i forgot the brand name)

650W corsair 

 

Story:

 

So the story is that i played fully normal like ever and suddenly my wifi usb adapter disconnects... i googled it and after that disabled the energysaving options... but the problem wasnt solved so i thought maybe its the hue+ and the power draw of it. So i disconnected the hue and its pretty much fixed now ( i think ).

 

Question:

 

1. how much power does the hue+ draw

2. is 650W not enough

3. could it be something else

Probably something else. Its not going to use much power at all, maybe 20w max.

 

The 650 is more than enough.

im just confused because after disconnecting the hue it didnt fk up my usb devices anymore... not once

Probably a bad usb wifi card. Id get a pcie one, there normally better.

its a new usb wifi card and it also fked up my razer blackwidow xchroma and connected it again over and over... the thing is i have connected like 8 usb devices maybe i use so much

Does your motherboard have independent USB ports? If not, you may have a dead USB controller and may have to RMA your board. Or, if you are using 3.0 ports, try using the 2.0 ports, or vise-versa.

like said when i unplug the hue+ which is plugged via molex into the PSU ... everything is fine

Just replicate the issue in some other computer to rule out your computer as a cause and RMA the Hue+.
