Yep backwards compatible which keeps the cost of 1Gb connectivity down. You'll see with this switch every 1Gb option is SFP while all the 10Gb are of course SFP+. https://www.alliedtelesis.com/products/x900-series

I'd contact Ubnt sales and check though, I have seen reports of some switches have non backwards compatible SFP+ ports but that's likely a firmware thing.
