Hey folks.

I am looking for the smallest,  over-clockable mother board for the 6700k.   I have to build 6 new workstations for my company.

other requirements,

must have T-C port (thunderbolt C - i made that up... use it.. lol)

preferably 4 dimm slots (Ddr4 obviosuly - systems will have 16gb, most likely 2400mhz variety)

m.4 built in port would be nice

and lastly... a micro atx form factor would be great. Im going to try and put 2 of these in a single rack mount server case (3 cases total) so any way to do that would be good.

ideas?

Well, if you want mATX, there is the Asus Maximus VII Gene (expensive, but great, I loved mine).

Cheaper "value" options would be the Asus Z170M-PLUS or Gigabyte GA-Z170MX-Gaming 5, those are popular.

Main Rig: R9 5950X @ PBO, RTX 3090, 64 GB DDR4 3666, InWin 101, Full Hardline Watercooling

Server: R7 1700X @ 4.0 GHz, GTX 1080 Ti, 32GB DDR4 3000, Cooler Master NR200P, Full Soft Watercooling

LAN Rig: R5 3600X @ PBO, RTX 2070, 32 GB DDR4 3200, Dan Case A4-SFV V4, 120mm AIO for the CPU

HTPC: i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz, GTX 1050 Ti, 16 GB DDR4 3200, AliExpress K39, IS-47K Cooler

Router: R3 2200G @ stock, 4GB DDR4 2400, what are cases, stock cooler

I don't have a problem...

All of those meet your requirements.

AFAIK, Thunderbolt isnt natively supported on the z170 chipset. You would have to buy something like this - https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboard-Accessory/ThunderboltEX-3/

Im reading a bit, and it  I think it might be best to wait until february or so to build these.. I should be able  to get a mini itx board at that point with a kabylake  cpu that has native thunderbolt 3.  then I can just put the gpu in the single pci  x16 slot at that gives me a ton more room to put the power supplies in the case, next to the mobo.
