Extremely high ping with friends on same network

Hello! I need some help with an issue. My bro and I are on the same network through Ethernet to the same modem. When we are both using the internet everything is fine. If i'm hosting a MC server and he joins, its unplably slow. When I play BF1 the ping sits around 40-90 but when my bro joins the same server its stays around 800+. It didn't always do this! What setting do I adjust in our modem?

Try using the command prompt and using the "ping" command to see if there is a general delay between you and your brother.

If those pings turn out fine, try moving the Ethernet plugs around on the router's end.

What kind of cables are you using? (cat 5, cat 5e?)

What router do you have and what internet speed is it rated for?

I think I fixed it! I removed all of the UPnP entries. I just tested MC now I'll try BF1.
