I'm going to build a rig soon, and for now i'm planning on getting DDR4-3000 ram because its rather cheap on the site, but if i buy it in my local store it might be more expensive, so should I change it to DDR4-2666 or less? Used for some gaming and school work, can you also quickly explain what mhz affects?

Check my Steam profile for games that I play. http://steamcommunity.com/id/childish_k1ll3r/

Planned Build PcPartPicker

It won't matter at all, just get the cheaper.

Mhz affects how fast data can be written to the ram. So when getting a higher mhz just increces the speed data can be written and read to the ram. The difference is unnoticeable unless you are dealing with a gpu. The only way you will notice a difference is if you are for example video or audio editing. Other than that the speed difference is almost unnoticible
