Thermaltake Level 10 GT Power LED

Fellow Techies,

I hope everyone is doing well and is being good, as Santa gets really watchful as Christmas gets closer. I have a Thermaltake Level 10 GT. I have enjoyed this case. Like everything in life there are pros and there are cons. The con that it is getting on my nerves and it will be the piece of straw that breaks the camels back is the d@mned BLUE LEDs for the power button and HDD light. I HATE the color blue. These two lights are obnoxiously bright and blue. How can I turn them into green? Orange is fine but I would prefer green. I thank you for your time. If anyone has had or has this same case, you know/will know what kind of issue I have. The LED can't just simply be replaced. It is stupidly small. Thank you in advanced and I am willing to make and post pictures.

 

Also, I would really like to keep these light powered as it will make me feel a little better..... I know it has the LED fan on the front, but I grew up learning from my pc repairing dad to look for the power/hdd LED and it is a habit that is hard to break.... kinda like coke....... no I don't have a problem!.... *sniff*O.o

Remove them and re-solder new LEDs. If you go on YouTube and watch a simple tutorial you will see it is really simple and cheap. Another way is just placing a piece of clear plastic of the colour you want on the LED.

As I appreciate your reply....I don't think that is possible. This is not like other power buttons I have seen on youtube.

Looks like it has an LED built into the switch if you are able to carefully take it apart and replace the LED then it would be possible.

Finding a bi-pin bulb that size is a bit of an issue. The switch is solid plastic too, so there is the second issue. The hdd bulb shouldnt be a problem though.

if they have an LED in there they had to assemble it, most likely clip in place so it's possible to take apart, just becareful if you do try to take it apart to not break any of the plastic clips.

I looked even harder, and I could not take the piece apart.

If it cannot be taken it apart you may need to get a replacement switch that suits the case.

What I forgot to mention was, If there is a safe and good way of doing it. I would try to clip the metal prongs off the existing LED and then soldering the new LED on. However I am unsure if the LEDs would break or not every time I press the power button.

Did you take off the leads to remove the LED's looks like that would be necessary in this case, but all it would require is the new leads to be soldered on looks like the LED stays solid where the white portion is what activates the switch.

I did not. However, a 5mm LED would not fit as this LED is smaller. Also. I was going to unplug the HDD and Power LED leads and put in green strips or wire up something that take about the same power.

The most common are probably 3 and 5mm led's so it might be the smaller of the two.
