Hi everyone!

After spending weeks of researching and checking out helpful reviews, a friend of mine told me that I need to check for compability with the parts. I tried pcpartpicker, except they did not have all the items. Also, I was told by a friend that the motherboard might not fit in the tower and the CPU might not be compatible with the board as well. I do plan on buying this PC in the next 3 weeks and before I do, I really hope I can get some input if my parts are compatible ect. Here is my build:

1 x INTEL® CORE™ I7-6700K Processor 8M Cache 4GHZ Base 4.2GHZ Turbo FC-LGA1151 Retail Box Skylake
1 x Corsair Hydro Series H115I All In One Liquid CPU Cooler With 280MMRADIATOR and Dual SP140L PWM Fans
1 x ASUS RGB Motherboard Rampage V Edition 10 CI7 X99 LGA2011V3 DDR4 SATA EATX
1 x Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB 4X8GB DDR4 3200MHZ C16 1.35V Memory Kit
1 x NVIDIA Titan X Pascal 1531 MHz 12 GB GDDR5X Video Card
1 x Cooler Master MasterCase Pro 5 Mid Tower ATX Case w/ Window & Freeform Modular System
1 x Corsair AX1200I 1200W Digital ATX 12V 80 Plus Platinum Modular Power Supply W/10 Years Warranty
1 x Western Digital SE 4TB SATA3 7200RPM 64M Cache 3.5in Internal NAS Hard Drive OEM
1 x Samsung 950 Pro 256GB M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe Solid State Drive (SSD)

Thank you for your honest opinions

pcpartpicker do have all the items but you probably had part compatibility guide on which made sure you couldnt fit that i7 6700k in that x99 motherboard because those are not compatible :) also why the titan x pascall? and you really should get a bigger ssd imho, for this budget you should just get a big SSD and a slow backup hdd to make backups on.

powersupply is huge overkill, u need a powersupply that has atleast 20% load on idle and 50%-70% under load, else the efficiency is really bad on a psu

also motherboard u need z170 chipset not x99,   x99 is for haswell-e chips    and z170 for skylake

Hi, I have the option of getting this very good PC and I read up on the titan pascal, I know it might be too much for what I might need.

PC picker did not have that motherboard so I stopped there.

X99 is for extreme chips like the i7 6950X. You want a Z170 board to pair with that CPU, because the socket that the chip goes in is different. Also Titan XP is a bit overkill, you probably won't need a PSU that crazy, so you can shave off price there. 32 gb of RAM is also a bit overkill but whatever floats your boat.

(By the way a 1080 or two 1080's in SLI might be better for price? IDK about these high end things)

BTW, the build is more guided for gaming. I read so many good things about this CPU and I wanted a fancy motherboard.  In this case, money is not a factor.

The chip and the board are not compatible, I would recommend something like the Asus Z170 Aura

I know the mother board is quite epic, and I would like to stay in the ROG Asus, should I be changing my CPU instead?

i7 6700k actually has more performance on each individual core. It has 4 decently powerful cores, while something more high end might have eight slightly less powerful cores. Sometimes it is difficult for games to take advantage of extra cores, so a few more powerful ones will do the job fine. Asus has a lot of nice Z170 boards, I would look on their website.

So I did a compability test on ncix and I got this as a result:

We have found an issue. You have selected:
INTEL® CORE™ I7-6700K Processor 8M Cache 4GHZ Base 4.2GHZ Turbo FC-LGA1151 Retail Box Skylake (111156)   ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Formula ATX LGA1151 Z170 Skylake DDR4 CrossFireX/SLI USB3.1 Gaming Motherboard (126247)
Compatible Motherboards with these AMD & Intel CPU*:   Attributes Detected:
LGA 1151   ATX, Intel Z170, USB 3.1

ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Formula ATX LGA1151 Z170 Skylake DDR4 CrossFireX/SLI USB3.1 Gaming Motherboard (126247)   Cooler Master MasterCase Pro 5 Mid Tower ATX Case w/ Window & Freeform Modular System (113572)
Compatible Computer Cases with these Motherboards*:   Attributes Detected:
None   ATX, Micro ATX, Mini ITX

ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Formula ATX LGA1151 Z170 Skylake DDR4 CrossFireX/SLI USB3.1 Gaming Motherboard (126247)   Corsair Dominator Platinum ROG Edition 32GB 4x8GB DDR4 3200MHZ C16 1.35V Memory (135583)
Compatible DDR4 Desktop RAM with these Motherboards*:   Attributes Detected:
None   1.35V, 32GB, DDR4-3200, Quad Channel

Is it possible that the compability check might be off?

I would suggest getting the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIABVR4PZ2353&cm_re=z170a-_-13-130-872-_-Product its a pretty good board overall
