Computer is not recognizing my SSD

geek on fleek

So, I bought an SSD and hooked it up correctly (from what I know) and It's not working, I have a 850 Evo from samsung. I've tried almost every sata slot on my motherboad, different power cables etc. It's only recognizing my HDD drive. Any help?

You need to create a partition in order to access the drive.
Go to partition manager and create a new partition.

You probably need to format the drive.  Go to disk management and see if the drive shows up.

It's recognizing it now! It says that there is a drive that's uninitialized that has 240 gb, so it's def working, How do I set it up?

ok cool so you cable was faulty. Just make a partition and start using it. If you are going to use it as boot drive just clone the old one into the ssd using magician or any other software. I like macrium.
