New Build need constructive advice comments

Go to solution Solved by dizmo,

If you don't plan on overclocking then it looks like a great build.

Any particular reason you went with that motherboard? You could save a fair bit by getting a cheaper one.

You're missing a PSU.

My parts list as is https://pcpartpicker.com/user/joshua4jehovah/saved/#view=N7k999 I already have a corsair cx750m psu I will be using in this build. I like the LED and other things about the Phanteks case I know I could go cheaper. I also will most likely use existing albeit old HDD's from current desktops to compliment the SSD in the build.

Any recommendations or substitutions are welcome please!

looks solid, what is the purpose of this build? i would swap the 2x4 ram with a single 1x8 so you can go with 32 gb later if you want, by slowly adding more 1x8 sticks

1. Get Crucial MX300 275GB. Much cheaper and you get more storage

2. Try for 600k with Z170 motherboard for extra performance as some game might bottleneck the 1070. Something like this

Strictly gaming and school/work (i'm a teacher) type things no video editing or anything like that.

Then 8 gb will serve you fine for quite a while. I'd leave a 16gb upgrade path open tho.

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

As noted above in my description I already have the corsair cx750m psu. I just liked the mobo and the features it had.
