Hows that?

fitting a quad core in a build that cheap would be tough, but doable if you sacrifice the 470 for a 460.

No such thing. With your budget, AMD is probably the only choice.

Its good just have to factor $90 more for the os.

30$ from reddit or just transfer form an existing PC, assuming you have one.

This is good enough, its a quad core, and you don't need a 470 to play dota and cs:go. Hell this PC could play Grand Theft Auto V at 1080p 60fps. I went a tad overbudget. Just so you can use DDR4 memory instead of DDR3. DDR3 will kill the memory controller fast.

I chose a ssd because if you just play simple games then you don't need a lot of space.

I would go with the 1050Ti however if he can afford to go overbudget a bit.

Yeah that's CPU bound, so it would be fine. However if he considers more GPU bound games, its a choice.

Well this pc should be good enough at 1080p. I have built rigs like this and it can play bf1 fine at 1080p 60FPS normal settings.

Why? hes better off with a quad core and a 460. He doesn't need the extra horsepower.

and if he wants to play more demanding games? good luck, that 460 isn't gonna get you very good frame rates on higher settings, i5 or not.
