Question about Car Audio

So then My next question is, what are the RCA ports for in the back of the headunit?  There are only 3 pairs, so I can't imagine they are for all the speakers.  Basically, How does sound go from the headunit to the amp?

Come on man.. You said you have a good understanding of ' wire impedance, receiver channels, speakers, amps, subs, etc'.

The RCA's are labelled both on the headunit and amp so just plug the cable to the corresponding RCA.

There should be 1 for each speaker (4), 1 for a subwoofer and the last is most likely for a camera.

so each speaker doesn't get a red and a white?  for example front left will get red and front right will get white?

I can help with programming and hardware.

The RCA's carry the audio signal to the amp, you have a red and white rca which indicates left and right channel.

Right, but does each RCA cable correspond to one speaker?  THe amp seems to take 2 RCA (both a red and white) per speaker, which would be 8 RCA cables in total.  Is the red and white pair 1 speaker or 2 speakers?

Mate....

Each RCA represents ONE CHANNEL. The amp has 2 front channels, 2 rear channels and 2 subwoofer channels. The headunit has 2 front channels, 2 rear channels, 1 subwoofer and most likely a camera input. You will need an RCA splitter for the subwoofer channel.

See how it has Front L  R on the amp? It means Front left and right speaker inputs.
