LibreElec Legal?

Hello.

 

I installed LibreElec (KODI) on my raspberry pi and I can download addons like HGTV and watch a whole bunch of shows. Is that even legal in the US? I believe its off of Kodi's default repository. I haven't modified the repositories at all.

That depends on jurisdiction. In a good deal of them, user made DVRs are legal to use, same with storing the recordings indefinitely for PERSONAL USE.

time shifting should be legal. Any streaming abilities should be working off public APIs and the provider has the ability to turn them off. I think its legal
