Don't buy a 1070 for 1080p gaming. You buy it for 1440p to light 4K gaming.

For 1080p get a 470, 480, or 1060.

Not true, if you want high frame rates like 144 fps you definitely need a 1070 for 1080p gaming. Plus if you want to future proof your system, why not.

that was my mistake, the $370 came from a different thread, I thought this was that lol. I edited my post, for $350 its pretty good

All good! I agree if you have the extra money you should go with something other than the Founders Edition, just stating there is nothing necessarily wrong with them if you don't plan to overclock.

Intel i5 3570K || Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 8GB FE || 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport 1600MHz || ASRock Z77 Pro 3 || WD Caviar Blue 1TB || Noctua NH-U12S || Creative Sound Blaster Audigy FX Sound Card || Fractal Define R4 || Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I REV 4.2 Wireless Network Card

ASUS VC239H Monitor || Corsair Strafe Cherry MX Red || Logitech G Pro || Philips SHP9500 w/ V-MODA BoomPro Mic || Reflex Lab Pro 36 Heavy Mouse Pad || Google Nexus 6P 128GB

I know there is like 15+ gtx 1070s out there, and I'd like to know which one is best. I will not be spending more than $650aud which would get me the MSI Gaming X however I'm not sure if it is really worth the price. (The only reason I chose it in the first place was because the colours would fit my setup)

So with a price range of $650AUD, 5-14hour usage a day, sometimes 4 hours at a time, using 1080p with highest settings, what would you recommend?

When overclocked they are all pretty similar, If your not gunna OC then you should pick the one that has the highest Boost clock that is within your budget, second to that evga has legendary support when it comes to warranty so they are never a bad choice.

Case - Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 : Mobo - Asus Maximus VI Gene : PSU - Corsair AX760 : CPU - Intel i7 4790k w/ EK-Supremacy EVO Copper/Acetal Water Block  : Memory - Corsair Vengence Pro 24gb 1600mhz : GPU - Evga GTX 780 Ti Classified w/ EK-FC780 GTX Classy - Acetal+Nickel Water Block : Storage - Samsung 840 Evo 250gb & 850 Evo 1tb SSDs, 2x 6TB External HDDs : Fans - 5x Noctua NF-F12 & 1x NF-S12A : Display - 24in Benq XL2420TE : Rads - Darkside LPX360 & LP240 : Pump/Res - EK-XRES 140 D5 Vario Pump

gross

Why? It matches or beats the 1060 in 90% of titles. Plus my 480 performs better than a 1060/980 ojn liquid nitrogen
