What GTX 1070 Is Actually The Best...

Not true, if you want high frame rates like 144 fps you definitely need a 1070 for 1080p gaming. Plus if you want to future proof your system, why not.

I know there is like 15+ gtx 1070s out there, and I'd like to know which one is best. I will not be spending more than $650aud which would get me the MSI Gaming X however I'm not sure if it is really worth the price. (The only reason I chose it in the first place was because the colours would fit my setup)

So with a price range of $650AUD, 5-14hour usage a day, sometimes 4 hours at a time, using 1080p with highest settings, what would you recommend?

Sorry, but looking at simple benchmarks I would rather spend an extra $200 to get 1.5x + the fps.

I will be producing content which will reduce fps slightly and I'd like to be making the highest quality I possibly can.

Is it worth sticking with the MSI 1070 X?

I'm not aware of how high I could push it, if 1440p works I'll take it, whatever works best. Like I've said I'm making content which means I want the best quality possible.

Why would that be? If I want to spend the money on a 1440p monitor it's only worth it, correct?

Get the MSI Gaming X. If the ASUS STRIX is cheaper, get that; you can change the lights to red so it matches, but it has a better cooler, but worse support.

MSI Sea Hawk if you like it cool, Founder's Edition if you like it hot, EVGA FTW if you like yours on fire.

Seriously though, I own and love the MSI Gaming X 1070. Mine overclocks to 2100MHz without breaking a sweat.

Literally, the 1.093 voltage cap stops it long before it even breaks 75C.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

Hypnotoad's RAM is dying, his motherboard is acting like the 6-year-old AsRock it is, a couple of SATA ports have just stopped working, but the RGB remains. The RGB always remains. Hypnotoad lives. All glory to the Hypnotoad.

No thats not exactly true, if you play on a 1080p monitor @ 144hz you'll need a 1070. Of course depending on the game.

I have the Founders Edition and it's totally fine if you don't plan to overclock and don't mind a little noise, you just have to play with the fan curve. Plus I got it for $350, so I don't see how you could pass that up.

$50 as opposed to $20... I'd say thats a much more significant difference. Also, you shouldn't NEED to play with the fan curve or deal with noise... who wouldn't pay $20 for a better looking, cooler, faster, quieter, OCable card?

Show me a GTX 1070 you can get for $370? At the time of my purchase the second cheapest card was $410 and that is a $60 difference. When your on a budget you sure as heck wouldn't mind changing a fan curve (takes two seconds) to save that kind of money. Not to mention "better looking" is subjective, I think the FE is the best looking one. However, I agree that if you want to overclock you should pretty much never get a blower style cooler (unless your getting a custom water cooling block).
