Please Help,

At random intervals I notice my screen blinks black for about a whole .5-1 second at just completely random intervals.

Whether in Firefox, in game, steam, wherever I am at. I find it gets even worse whenever I have to alt-tab. It has been doing this since

Thursday when I logged in. After being annoyed by the blinking I updated from 375.95 to 376.19 in nvidia (I have a GTX 1070). My

Monitor is brand new and I tried replugging HDMI, I made sure PCIE was secure, etc to no avail. I tried going through Task Manager. Nothing. I tried checking

Super Anti-spyware and Malware-bytes. Nothing. Not even a cookie. Do I have to update chipset? BIOS? Revert Nvidia? Reinstall OBS? This blinking is

slowly driving me nuts so I would like some help. Thanks in advance.

Maybe the update messed something up? Otherwise when this happened to me I had hardware failing.

Highly doubt it. My GTX 1070 is 5 months old and has been perfectly fine. I have proper motherboard, PSU is 650 watt thermaltake. Mobo is MSI m81-e33. CPU is i7 4790k. I highly doubt it. I use HDMI 2.0 for monitor and that has to be fine.

I just tried Xbox and played game, flipped through menus, etc and it didn't blink. So it is down to either the cable, video card or windows. I will try a different cable. I will switch xbox cable to PC and PC to xbox and test both.

Ok after flipping the cables I have determined it is not the cable. As I was eventually able to get the blinking again and not cables and HDMI are switched so it is a matter of video card.  I think attempting on board graphics ports will be reasonable as that will determine if I need to refresh windows or it is a video card issue.

Well I have performed a clean installation of nvidia 375.95 so that should help but I could go back to 375.86 if necessary

After a couple of days of simmering. No. I am not. It was problem free Sunday and Monday. Should I reinstall windows? I have been meaning to move it to my SSD anyways. I have probably a little over 2TB of stuff problem is my 2TB External Drive may not suffice for EZ Transfer. Hmm.
