I need help on finding a router... We cannot even stream when wired into the Ethernet on our new 4k tv. My moms room is upstairs and her room doesn't even get internet... We have alot of devices running off of it. I was just wonder what a good router that wouldn't break the bank.

I'm not sure a new router is what you want. It sounds like you want to improve your WiFi strength and coverage. In which case, you'll be wanting an access point.

Also, if you can't stream when wired, it's unlikely your router is the cause. What speeds are you paying for? And what speeds do you get from a speedtest when wired?

I would have to agree with every one here. You have shit internet. No questions about it. Netflix states you need like 15-25 Mbps for a 4K stream. Then you add all your other devices in the mix. As far as poor WiFi coverage, a new router might help with that. But it also depends on what your house is made out of and what distance the router has to cover.

What are you currently using as a router? What is the speed package you pay for internet wise? Are you getting those speeds?

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Our speed test is good we have alot of things on a cheap Linksys router

Specifically, what model of linksys router? As for recommendations, I can vouch for NetGear's R7000 or R8000 routers for 1600-2000sqft two story homes with open-ish floorplans. I've setup about 6 or 7 of them over the past 2 years, and they work great! The one at my old job is even able to push its' signal over 100ft through 2 cinderblock walls and a wooden pegboard wall.

Keep in mind, having a dedicated access point is indeed a better idea for coverage, but if you're trying to keep cost low by using a singular all-in-one device, you have to be sure your router can actually handle the number of devices and streams you're wanting to run at once.

Also, could you run a wired speedtest through your current router and link or post the picture of the results? speedtest.net
