My Xonar D1 seems not working - how can I test it without a second pc?

em4n3m

Hi,

I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 and last couple of hours looks like my Xonar D1 can get the input microphone but doesn't send output audio to my headphones.

I'm currently using them on the mobo audio connectors and work ok; is there a way I can be sure that the card is "partially dead"?

I have had it for 6+ years now...

Thanks!

Sorry to hear that - so most likely it's broken, right?

What are the chances that my drivers don't work (I checked, I haven't got snd_virtuoso blacklisted - also if I had, the microphone shouldn’t work)?

Heck, I can also hear the sound on my display if I decide to pass it through the DP using nVidia proprietary drivers...

I'll get a new one then...

  • 3 weeks later...

Update - this might interest people still having it.

Apparently the card is not broken, simply it was outputting the signal through the front panel (more details here).

As soon as I disabled that it started outputting the signal to the back output jacks...

I'm speechless... Well now all works ok...
