FIRST TIME PC BUILDER LF ADVICE&FEEDBACK

So, first of all, the budget.

Because i've a pretty decent student job, my budget is relatively flexible, so although i'm trying to target a €1500/ 1600USD sweet spot with my current part list topping off at 1350 w/ shipping, approximately, i wouldn't mind waiting/ saving a bit more. However, i have no interest in diminishing-returnism; any deviation from my current part list has to have a reasonable performance improvance/cost increase ratio. The list is not set in stone, but it most definitely approximates the targeted spec.

That noted, the target purpose of this build is not 4K gaming, at all. I have a 1080 monitor that i'm quite fond of, and i'm not thinking about spending a lot of money on a new one, perhaps another cheap 1080 monitor to have a second screen. what i do want to do with this system is high performance 1080p gaming, with simultaneous streaming. It doesn't have to be bleeding edge, but most definitely last me a couple of years.

I'm aiming for a Black/white with RGB accents look (whatever the accent is depends on the LED's of the individual parts.

The Part List

CPU:I7-6700K

I like the specs of this CPU overall, although it is quite expensive here in Belgium, probably around 400 USD. 4 cores seems to be necessary, not sure about hyperthreading, but i'd rather calculate cost for something more expensive and ''cheap down" than the other way around on this part.

GPU: Some form of GTX 1070, currently, i'm eyeing the EVGA FTW GAMING one.

I'm quite confident that it's more than powerful enough for what i'm trying to accomplish, maybe even a bit too powerful, but i'm sure it'll last me quite a few years.

RAM: 16Gb 2.4GHz 14 CL DDR4 Corsair Vengeance

This is one of the parts that i'm not so confident about and is more of an ''approximative placeholder". I know that 8Gb of RAM is plenty for gaming, but i'd like to give my system a bit of breathing room when the streaming is added to the mix. I am looking for lower CL, though and i'm definitely willing to sacrifice the marginal benefit of 2.4GHz.

MOBO: ASUS Z170-A

I'm fine with the IO, and i really like the looks of this Motherboard. Since i'm targeting the 6700K, it's a Mb with the 1151 socket.I love the white accents.

PSU Corsair RM650x

it's modular, it's plenty of Watts with breathing room for eventual expansion

CASE Sharkoon BW9000 W

it's a white case with a window for around 80 USD. 3 Case Fans, and space in the top for 140 mm fans, maybe a radiator, i'm not sure.

COOLING placeholder BeQuiet Dark Rock Advanced C1

this is where most of my ''knowledge" falls flat and this is the part where i'm most torn on. 1st: I'm not fammiliar with any of the brands 2nd: I'd like to overclock whatever CPU i'll get and 3rd: i'd like to strike a noise/performance balance, but i'm more gravitating towards strong performance, than low noise. I've read tons of reviews, watched a slew of videos, and i just can't make a decision. This is a part i definitely don't want to cheap out on and where i'll be mostly needing advise.

I've already bought a Samsung 750 500Gb SSD and configured it on another computer: installed windows on it, downloaded the software I want etx. I've a non-OEM License key, so i'll be able to solve any issues with compatibility once i change motherboards. (and if it is, than it won't be a problem either. I can get Keys through my school for free as an ICT-Student. (which is why i've already installed it, to see if it works in the first place)). I don't need more storage in the near future, and i've the opportunity to salvage drives from old PC's so i can throw in some old 500 Gb drives pretty much whenever i need.

Do note that I have all the peripherals i need already.

Blow me away with your feedback and advise, talk nerdy to me.

Thanks in advance,

Sharkoon are not the best case manufacturer out there. NZXT or Phanteks or Corsair is better. Rest looks fine to me

they do have some good products for sale. judge the product, not the brand. also they have blue cases IIRC.

I know. I've been combing through reviews, and this case seems to be pretty decent. Most problems seem to be expected ones with this pricerange. Before i make my final case decision, i'll probably go to a nearby store and look at some cases IRL, but it's definitely the sort of design i'm looking for. I'll definitely keep it in mind.

Thanks. I've done A LOT of research for most of the parts, used multiple sources/ sites... looking for reviews and stuff is how i stumbled on LTT in the first place. Loads of help, and a pertty nice community, so it seems :)

Look at the NZXT S340, or H440. those cases are great
