Hello,

I joined the LTT F@H team yesterday. My CPU has no problem folding however for the most part my GPU (EVGA 980ti) keeps underclocking automatically to 405MHz and then the display driver continuously crashes over and over. Even if I force the card to operate at full default clock speed through EVGA Precision X it will still underclock. Any tips to solve this?

What driver version are you using? The newer drivers don't work for folding

I'm on the newest ones nvidia 376.19.

I've found a solution for it though. If you open up the protein viewer it will boost to whatever clock you've set the the GPU to (including my overclock +160 core, +200 mem). Then you can just minimize the protein viewer and carry on with your day :)

Interesting. So maybe the new drivers work again, so i can run a few workunits when my pc is not running boinc or games :D

Let me know if it works. I've had no more problems with my GPU after doing this.

Hmm problems are back after finishing each WU. Card keeps downclocking to 405Mhz even after trying the viewer trick that worked earlier.

Try the driver version 373.06 and see if it works with that. That's the last known version that seemed to work without any issues. If that does not help try turning on the f@h screensaver, which does nothing else than displays the viewer the hole time

Thanks that seems to have worked, the GPU is folding away now. Oddly enough I had that exact driver still in my downloads folder from months ago haha.

Ok good? I tried folding with the newest drivers and it still does not work. Guess i will stick with boinc then?

Yeah I tried the most recent driver as well, no luck. Boinc doesn't seem to want to use my GPU, even for GPU projects.. It will only use my CPU even if I've set my preferences to only use the GPU. So I've gone back to F@H for now on 373.06.
