The 1050Ti probably only has DVI-D, which doesn't support analog (VGA).

You'll either need an active dvi to vga adapter or a new monitor.

ooh...thanks for the help...

and btw what the difference between active dvi and normal ones..??

Passive adapters are simple and cheap whereas active adapters are usually somewhat expensive (and you should probably just get a new monitor instead).

Passive adapters just re-route the pins (DVI-I has an analog pinout, so a passive DVI-I to VGA adapter just corrects the positions of the pins). An active adapter takes an input and transforms it (because there is no way for the pins to line up). So think of it like this. Lets say DVI requires pins A-F and VGA requires pins F-J. DVI-I carries pins A-J while DVI-D only carries A-F. So if you have DVI-I (pins A-J), then you just have to select pins F-J. But if you have DVI-D (pins A-F), then you need to convert that into pins F-J.
