Ok, so Ill start this off as... I don't intend for this to be a clean process (or practical). I'm not entirely sure how difficult it would be. But I would expect it to be an entertaining and challenging project nonetheless.

I would like to attempt to mod (maybe just tear apart). A PS4 or/and Xbox one to be in a PC case. I am mostly wondering if I was to buy the motherboard of a console and any other needed hardware part (RF Receiver, Powersupply, DVD drive etc) separately, Would it work? Could I stick both components of each console into a PC case and have two fully functional consoles? Could I have one DVD drive work on both, or is their a big difference in how their drives take or use data?

I am also wondering if their is a licensing problem that Xbox Live or Playstation Network, would not support these services on my "modified" device?

I'm just very curious and would like any Information or knowledge any of you could share.

Much Appreciated

Motherboard of XBOX and PS4 are different size and shape than regular PC motherboards. Yes. If you get a big enough case it could work but then the screws will be off and you will have to figure how to screw it in or duct tape it

And most of the time each component of PS and XBOX only works with each other. So plugging another component to another system might not work or even fit. Optical drive could work though.

Snip

Someone did something similar by putting BOTH an Xbox 360 and a PS3 into the same computer case

I remember seeing something a while back that may be what you're looking for.

http://theawesomer.com/xbox-one-ps4-laptop-case-mod/305964/

This guy pretty much packed the two systems into a custom made box with cut outs for ventilation and inputs (CD, USB, Ethernet, etc..). It doesn't seem like you are looking for something portable so you wouldn't need to go through the trouble of adding a screen to it.

I know this isn't exactly a PC case but I hope it could give you some inspiration for you own unique project.

Good luck!
