Okay so I have been looking to invest in better server because my current one fried (Was a laptop) I am looking to host Garry's Mod. And I need enough ram and cpu to hold 80 players and upwards of 1000 props/ententes. I have been looking at THIS SERVER!! but I don't know if it's the best or if I should build my own... I am working with a limited budget ynder 500 USD. Any Suggestions would help! thank you.

These are the Ones I have narrowed it down to I need the one with the best bang for my buck and that's capable of running 2 80 players servers with HIGH entities and props amount! Thank you!! And With the Unit Rack Servers do I need Special things for them to work like a rack or another PSU or does it come with it. And I think I need a monitor and keyboard + mouse right? And do I need a special router or is this like a PC tower and I can just plug a Ethernet cable into the back and give it power and BOOM!

Cheap Server but good

or

High price but amazing

or

Mid Price but better or a $63 cheaper version with only 4 cores instead of 6

Tower Server

and the Final CHEAPEST and 16 core but only 32gb of ram

this was mentioned on the other thread. For garys mod you need the fastest single core performance you can get. These are from your options

4 x Intel Quad Core 2.40GHz 8MB 1066MHz E7330

i3-4150

4x Intel Quad Core 2.93GHz 8MB 1066MHz 130W Processors

4 x Intel Quad Core 2.93GHz 8MB 1066MHz X7350

Two (2) Intel Xeon Quad Core E5520 2.26GHz 8MB Smart Cache 5.86GT/s 80W

Im pretty sure that i3 at 3.5GHz is going to beat the rest at single core performance.

I don't know if Garysmod requires 128GB of ram, it is a very old game.

It requires alot of ram for the amount of people, entities, and props the server will have.

Well you have to install the source dedicated server on it as well.

As for the router a gigabit connection would be a minimum requirement.

For 80 people, rent a server from a company, your network can probabbly handle 10 people max on a standard residential internet connection, unless you have ungodly upload speed, and once you hit your max upload speed it isn't enjoyable expect constant fps drops and lag on the client's side. And most ISPs will have restrictions on hosting severs on a residential line and could shut it down if they see to much traffic going to it, they could have you to upgrade to a buisness line to host the server.

As for the server itself get the highest core speed as possible, and a dual core( 4 threads max anything else is pointless) , source servers use 1 thread only, and as for ram 8-16gb should be enough.

The best would be a pentium g3258 @ 5GHz. The processing power is suprising small, I had one running off of a pentium 4 with 1.5Gb of ram and ran fine for about 10 people.

 •E5-2670 @2.7GHz • Intel DX79SI • EVGA 970 SSC• GSkill Sniper 8Gb ddr3 • Corsair Spec 02 • Corsair RM750 • HyperX 120Gb SSD • Hitachi 2Tb HDD •
