A friend of mine is going to be getting into PC gamig and he is on a tight budget, so the

Cheaper the better, but he has no more than $400. What's the best PC he can build

For 1080p medium settings? He's said he doesn't need ultra , just a smooth medium in games

Like battlefield 1, 4, watch dogs 2, the division. Thanks for any help

medium? Boy, if anyone can build a computer for 400$ that has a decent external gpu that can run BF1 1080p at medium settings (i guess its a well optimized game, but i dunno tough), without using refurbished parts, is a freaking god xD.

I would tell him to either go used for a few parts (cpu, gpu, mobo) or if he wants all new then to go with this. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3jnD7h

Dual core, terrible idea. 4 cores is basically the minimum.

the g4400 is the only cpu for this price range that has the single core power to run games at all.

If he needs any of that then he will need to wait for an extra 100-150$ before even thinking about building something.

That actually looks pretty good and if he can get the 1050 ti then that will be geared for 1080 high.

With $400, I don't think you'll get too much of a good experience.

I mean, you can get decent FPS at medium settings.

herman's build that is listed above will provide a pretty good experience at 1080p.

Take this build.

I have a i3 2120,  16gb ddr3, gtx 1050ti and I can play bf1 at medium/high with 60fps. My i3 2120 actually bottlenecks the gpu, but not by much. So an i3 6100 will be great
