I recently purchased the following pc build:
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/Psf64C

The difficulty I'm having is when I load an older game from steam (like CSGO) I'm getting lower frame rates than I would be on my prior FX/750ti build. I'm unsure as to why this has been happening. I've disabled the XBOX DVR app as well as Cortana and I really only received another 30 fps. All of my drivers are up to date and I even went so far as to manually update every one of them (took a while). Currently I'm sitting at anywhere between 144-160 fps on older maps and this whole situation has baffled me.

This issue ONLY happens in windows 10 and I was wondering if any of you knew as to why it was occurring. This rig runs w7 CSGO at 600 or more fps, I'm just confused as to why 'upgrading' my os RUINED my frame rates.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Update your drivers. Make sure everything is connected to the correct place (Screen to GPU and not Mobo).

Use http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html to uninstall your drivers and reinstall them fresh

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link

Also fire up GPUz and see if your GPU is being "underutilized". It could just be some "aggressive" power saving measures because what's the point of rendering 600 FPS?

I also find that weird because last time I tried Half Life 2 on Windows 10 it capped at 300 FPS. Not that I cared.

First, CSGO isn't "old" game, not even close. Second, why would you need more than 250fps? Third, run benchmark or something heavier so we can tell if there's actual performance issue or if its just something related to CSGO.

You should also download the Tool "shutup10" and get rid of all the MS Spy shit. And 600 FPS is useless. No Display can show them anyway.
