Posted December 6, 2016 I was wondering, could I plug the USB cable from the Blue Yeti Pro into a female USB to male 3.5mm audio jack connector and plug it into the audio jack port on my sound card? Would that work or not? Because I think it needs to be plugged into a USB port for the power but maybe the 3.5mm audio jack port would be suffice? Thanks! Posted December 6, 2016 It does need to be plugged into a USB port for power and audio transfer so I don't think just a 3.5mm jack would provide enough. i5 12600k | ASRock Z690M-ITX | 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz | EVGA 2080 Super Black | Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB + 980 1TB | Corsair RMx 650W | Thermaltake Tower 100 White Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/702898-blue-yeti-pro-question/#findComment-8984315 Share on other sites
 Posted December 6, 2016 It won't work, at least because your 3.5 jack is output, and mic should be plugged into the input. It also uses sort of 'internal soundcard', so nope. If you want to do this should've gone XLR. Can I use XLR to 3.5mm jack connector for it with the usb to usb cable to a usb port for power? Is this retarded or no? Posted December 6, 2016 Don't think so. It has a ADC in the microphone as it is USB. Unless its designed to be able to bypass that I'd say it's unlikely to work. Don't tread on me. I squish, and white liquid comes out. It's icky, trust me.
