What does this pin do on my CPU

Can anyone help me figure out what this pin does on my FX-8320? If you look at the CPU pin-side up it is on the side across from the triangle. Very far right on the bottom row of pins

I broke it off and am trying to determine if it is my CPU or motherboard that is causing the issue. (I had it working for a while with a replacement pin but then a OC happened and now im down a system. (It wasn't even a big OC. I had pushed that CPU even harder. I had it at a 4.5Ghz with 1.532V or something and it was stable until I broke the pin. I was going for a 4.3Ghz at around 1.3V when my system shut off and wouldn't power on

The mainboard might send current to it to verify if a CPU is even present.

No, it's the third pin from the left in the top row. The 1st and 2nd are the one's that aren't there.

The pin is actually one of the pins that the processor uses to receive information for it's L1 cache, it's not a useless pin.

on opteron processors that pin name is L1_CADOUT_H[0] on desktop it is NC_A3 with footnote: 1

it'd be more of a memory pin (prolly memory request) of the 240 DIMM slot x2

a no BOOT/POST could result as the memory request fails.

Strange. Back when the PIN was bent the system would only let me use 4GB of RAM (Didn't matter how much was installed). Im now interested as to why I have no POST after that OC
