PC Won't start

Alright so I was trying to OC my PC earlier today and was having instability issues due to me knocking a pin off of my cpu (I have a pin that I dropped in the socket). Anyways, IT endend up failing and just shut off. I had to leave so now im back. Now the PC won't turn on. If I do Clear CMOS my coolers light and my fans will turn on for 1/4 of a second and shut off again. What did I do and how do I fix it?

I just wanted to make sure what CPU it was. Your purchase isn't what I'm going to lecture you about.

 

You can try getting a paper clip and slotting that in the board. If it works, clear the CMOS or go into the BIOS and default everything. If you clear the CMOS, you'll need to remove the power cord and drain the system of all residual charge and removal of the battery will be needed.

Are you removing the PSU and battery?

No just the battery. And I unplug the PSU from the wall

And you have to press the power button for a few seconds to fully discharge.

I can try. I also short out the pins made for a clear cmos

You have to wait a few seconds since even a trickle charge is enough for the board to keep BIOS settings.

You need to cut a pin out of it. The only other option is to get a new CPU.

Im stealing pins off of old celerons. I already have a pin where it is supposed to go. Im going to try and remove it and put in a new one
