Hey LTT i have been upgrading/replacing my system the last couple  of years but the psu was always the same i am using the corsair enthusiast series tx750 v2 it's like 5-6 years old do i benefit from getting a new one or is the technology the same ? or did something big happen ? atm i am looking at a Corsair Rm1000i as i am soon gonna sli 980Ti

If you wanna SLI 980tis then yeah, replace your TX750. A Corsair RM1000i should do fine.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

especially when you go SLI it's probably worth replacing an older power supply that's gonna be near its theoretical limits.

 

that said, the old one is probably not a bad power supply at all, you could keep it on a shelf as a spare or sell it on to a friend.
