Is this a good build?

jond1122

Hi guys,

I think I might start buying the parts for this build. I am trying to make it very inexpensive. Is there anything that you recommend I change? Trying to get it under $500, best is $450 or below, but this is what I have so far. I already have a keyboard, mouse, and monitor.

If your fine with spending 15 dollars more 2 4GB sticks wouldn't be a bad idea. Also the RX 460 Is a great card for lighter games, the most intense game I play right now is Subnautica (Due to a lack of money) and the 460 hovers around 50 fps on high.

I would be using the 1070 with my 6600k if it wasnt over 600$ in canada :/

This is a fine starter build.

The build looks fine to me. You could get 2 4GB sticks of RAM for the minor speed benefit of dual-channel memory but it will not make a very noticeable difference if you just game and browse the internet.

Won't be really noticeable, I would go with which ever option is cheaper.

Ok, thanks!

Here is a better performance build for even a little less then what you have.

How much of a difference would it make?

The 1050Ti is going to average 10-15 more FPS on most games. The i3 6300 is going to perform better in most gaming and single use applications, since it has much better single core performance, and it going be less of a bottleneck on your GPU. The one trade of is your lose a few cores, but given that the AMD cpu you picked isn't going to have good core performance anyway, its not really a loss.
