Are memory prices going up?

I've noticed the price history of some DDR4 memory kits I've been looking at on PCpartpicker have been going up. Just wondering if there is global trend of memory prices going up or is just some local Aussie retailers jacking up their prices?

global trend known for quite few months

Oh, Ok, so I should buy my memory now for Kaby Lake build while there's still cheap memory at a local retailer I use frequently?

Prices should go down towards the end of January, beginning of February.

RAM manufacturers had lots of orders for LPDDR4 (for new mobile phones) and also moved a lot of production to making Flash memory for SSDs so demand exceeded production levels and prices rose.

Production was estimated to catch up with demand this month or in January.
