GTA 5 is only using 60% of both my GPU and CPU

scighera2

Hello people, I have a question that I was hoping someone here could answer.

I am currently playing GTA 5 at 1080p ultra settings (no advanced graphics) and 2x MSAA.

I am getting around 70-120 fps in the game, but I noticed that when I'm in the 70-80 fps area, that my GPU and CPU are only being pushed to around 60%.

My GPU is a gtx 1080 FE at stock clock, and my CPU is an i7 4790 OC @ 4.8 ghz.

If anyone has any info It will be much appreciated.

I actually just installed the most recent drivers, but this issue has been present for a while (through many driver updates) I just never bothered asking about it since I always got good frames.

How did you get a 4790 to 4.8 Ghz's tough o-O?

Well, i suppose you could reinstall the drivers and hope for the best, unless it would be extreme thermal throttling?

Task Manager is literally the worst thing you can use to verify an overclock's actual speed.

Use DDU to uninstall drivers then reinstall. You probably have been stacking drivers since day 1 xD

Everyone should own a vive.

Doesn't Geforce Experience uninstall the old drivers?

Well I uninstalled my drivers, and reinstalled the new ones. But it seems like the issue wasn't fixed.

Opps, nevermind I'm an idiot. I was mistaking GPU usage with power usage. My GPU is in-fact reaching 100% usage.
