Hey everyone, i've spent the last 3 days trying to figure this out and im just at a total loss, so i figured id ask around and see if i can get some answers.

The Problem: I was out of the house this past weekend, when i left my Rig was working totally fine, I get back this past sunday and it goes right to the BIOS and wont boot, I start poking around and see that while my boot SSD is recognized in the storage config folder, its not a boot option.

Fast forward to today and from what i know now it seems to be an issue with the boot file, specifically boot/bcd, and when i try bootbcd/rebuildbcd it tells me theres 0 active windows installations. ive tried to rebuild it manually, when i tried to do a fresh install of windows the drive is shown as "unallocated space", cant format it, cant make a new partition. Its also not recognized in the command prompt in the recovery USB.

I have no idea where to go from here and could really use some help here. Ill link below the recent "fixes" i tried. Thanks for any help you can provide

Are you able to get any data off it at all?

Nope, its recognized in the bios but not in the windows reinstall or the troubleshooting command prompt. Thats whats baffling me

Have you tried a different computer and/or another type of interface (i.e. USB, different motherboard port, ect.)?

Hope this helps...

Not recognized via a sata to USB adapter on a different laptop, which made me think the controller was damaged but it wouldn't make sense because the BIOS still recognizes it

If it works, get your data off and format the SSD to see if that helps

Nope, not recognized in linux... It still shows up in the bios, and is shown as unallocated space when i try to do a fresh windows install...

What the hell is going on here?

Update: Tried sudo lshw -c storage -c disk and the ssd was shown, so it isnt dead

Maybe something got wrong with your SSD and it show as unallocated space, if you have really important files I'd consider taking it to a recovery place
